My no-BS beauty routine
it's back-to-school for the kids which means back-to-routine for the adults, and i’m so READY for it. i’m especially excited to get back into my beauty routines that were interrupted by summer craziness and the dreaded summer sickness(es)—did anybody else’s whole household get strep throat this summer?
my beauty routine has evolved over the years to basically be anything that will make me look like less of a tired mom – i'm not the person to ask about a 12-step skincare routine. instead, i gravitate towards products that work on the go and without a learning curve. from my go-to sunscreen to the only fragrance i use to my favorite brow product, read on to see what products make it into my 5-minute morning routine.

skincare
the best way i’ve found to look less tired is taking care of my skin, washing my face with *cold* water (trust me) and drinking TONS of water (still working on this one). the more i prioritize my skin, the less makeup i need to wear so it’s really a win-win.
caudalíe premier cru
french women know what’s up. they just do. the trifecta of caudalíe’s premier cru line has really transformed my skin. and if you invest in one thing, let it be this eye cream. (also it’s made with bordeaux grapes which makes me love it even more.)

ole henriksen cleanser + gel crème
this cleanser feels like putting citrusy sunshine on my face and i love that it gives a deep cleanse without stripping the natural oils. top it off with ole henriksen’s gel crème and it’s a match made in heaven. even ido is obsessed!

kiehl’s beyond screen
if there is one step i refuse to skip, it’s applying this sunscreen. that’s my bare minimum. the serum texture is truly a game-changer. take this as your remind to always wear SPF.

tata harper essence + illuminating moisturizer
tata harper skincare was born from tata's farm in vermont where the ingredients came straight from her garden. now, they source the most potent ingredients from around the world, but all the products are still built on the power of plants, which i will always stand behind. their products have become must-haves in my routine since discovering them.

la roche-posay hyalu serum
this product hardly needs an introduction - my skin looks more radiant and when i’m using this regularly so it's become a staple.
haircare
so, my hair is where i save the most time and money in my routine. day-to-day, i am super low-maintenance, especially because my hair goes THROUGH it when i'm on set. i'm all about products that make my hair feel squeaky clean, as long as they are sulfate and paraben-free.

bumble and bumble seaweed conditioner
after back-to-back set days, where my hair has been heat styled, i like to give it an added boost of moisture with this conditioner. plus it’s designed to help balance out the moisture of your scalp, not just your hair.

l’oreal ever pure
it's only when i started writing this that i realized my shampoo is for colored hair...i do not color my hair - lol! the truth is, as long as it's sulfate- and paraben-free, i'm easy. and l'oreal does the trick every time.
makeup and perfume
i’m a big fan of the no-makeup-makeup look. my approach has always been that i want to look like myself, but slightly improved with a little glow and some brightness to mask my lack of sleep.

skin: ilia’s super serum skin tint is a holy grail of products - skincare and makeup combined. it blurs any imperfections giving my skin a glowy, dewey look. and it has good stuff like niacinamide and hyluronic acid. i’m not going to pretend like i know exactly what they do, but i know they're super hydrating for the skin.
eyebrows: they frame your face and (some argue) are the most important part of any routine. i use glossier’s brow flick pen to fill them in (child of the 90s and still scarred by over-plucking) and then ilia’s clear brow gel to set them in place for the day.
lips: ilia’s balmy tint in runaway is always within arms reach. along with u beauty’s the plasma lip compound, which gives my lips a little extra plump.
cheeks: my love for ilia is clearly coming through but the truth is i also keep their multi-stick in my makeup bag. i use the color “a fine romance” and it really was a fine romance at first swipe with a name like multi-stick. perfect for cheeks and lips, and extra points that i only need to throw one thing in my bag for touch-ups throughout the day.
eyes: chanel’s eyeshadow palette in blurry mauve is the perfect foursome of soft colors that let me pretend that i can do a smokey eye. in reality it’s usually just a little swipe here and there but the colors are so flattering, you can’t go wrong. if i need a little more definition or i’m going out at night, i’ll reach for ilia’s clean eye gel eyeliner to give them a bit more pop. then swipe on ilia’s limitless lash mascara to open up the eyes. i love that its clean, doesn’t irritate my eyes and stays on all day. can’t recommend enough.

ormaie eau de parfum
i'm honestly not usually a perfume person but this scent is just too good. it's woodsy and a little sweet and it feels like the perfect amount of special for me! i also love how it wears over time, it isn't too potent which i love! plus when the bottle is this beautiful, it’s so fun to display on your vanity.
now back to the kitchen
