I feel like I ask this every year but…how is it already almost passover?
the beginning of 2025 has felt especially fast and chaotic thanks to TAHINI BABY’s imminent launch (!) but the timing also feels beshert since it just so happens that she is a pretty perfect passover cooking companion.
yes, she is coming out after passover (some insight into the book publishing process - the author doesn’t decide when it enters the universe). but honestly, I think TAHINI BABY will be a go-to for big occasions AND the everyday stuff. It’s easy enough for weekday lunch and dinner but elevated enough for a dinner party or holiday.
so, I want to give you a sneak peek of what passover goodness will be coming your way in TAHINI BABY…scroll down to see more! passover recipes kind of get a bad rep and listen, I do love bread but let’s be honest…matzo slathered with butter + flaky salt? divine. a delicacy!
but if you’re looking for something a bit more impressive and feels a little fresh to serve alongside your seder plate, i’ve got you covered.
ahead of the holiday. i’m sharing some of my tried and true, veg-forward knockouts that will convince the entire family that passover food can be delicious. PLUS! a sneak peek at two of my favorite recipes from TAHINI BABY!
let me know what’s on your passover menu, and (early) chag sameach!

my picks for passover
it’s not passover without matzo ball soup. this one gets a ton of flavor (and nutrients!) by being packed with veg and, of course, plenty of dill. i’m a dill girl, what can I say?
matzo quiche with all the cheese
I think the name here really speaks for itself, but think of this as an elevated, super cheesy variation on matzo brei mixed with a quiche…like if they had a baby. the egg and cheese gets its moment with matzo as the vessel.
cherry, herb, halloumi and quinoa salad
this is more of an all-the-time salad rather than just a passover salad, but i’ll take any excuse to eat beets, cherries, and allllll the herbs. cherries might not be in season but dried cherries are your friend in this case!
I won’t lie and say I don’t miss bread during passover, but if there’s ever an excuse to double my potato intake, it’s now. this dish will be the star of your seder, thanks to crispy, garlicky potatoes. it’s a total showstopper and will make you look like an absolute boss in the kitchen, and it’s surprisingly easy!
this dish combines basically all of my favorite flavors. juicy, lemony chicken combined with honey, fennel seed, garlic, paprika… it’s perfect for the night of passover, but you might want to make extra for leftovers the next day. It also comes together on one sheet pan with veg so you get a two-for-one in this recipe. it’s really tasty. you will love this crowd-pleaser.
grilled halibut with fennel, shallots, and an olive tapenade
if chicken isn’t your vibe, this halibut recipe is perfect for spring and looks extremely impressive on the table. I fear this olive tapenade will actually become something you need in the house at all times.
*coming soon in TAHINI BABY*
I actually cannot wait to share some of these dishes with you…so I’m not going to 😂 here’s a little taste of what you can expect in TAHINI BABY (which you can pre-order here - only 18 days left!!)
honey-sesame candied matzo
this recipe is my take on those sweet, crunchy, sticky sesame candies you might find on the countertop at a jewish deli (or at the bottom of your bubby’s purse). I had a vision to combine that flavor with the classic chocolate/toffee matzah and oh my goodness, it’s next level. but I will warn you…it is HIGHLY addictive. you’ll want to make multiple batches at once.
cheddar scallion matzo brei with zhoug + za’atar
matzo brei is a year-round meal in my house, so it only makes sense that I share an elevated version with you in my book. it’s got all the goodness of the classic, comforting dish, plus lots of cheese, za’atar (a spice blend of wild oregano, sumac, toasted sesame seeds, and salt) + topped with my bright, spicy celery zhoug (a fav hot sauce that you’ll use on everything!).
that’s all for now ;)
p.s. who’s coming to party with me on my book tour? so excited to meet, dish + feast with you all. see you there!!

I will definitely buy your book but want to get it from my local independent bookstore. In fact, i will likely buy many copies for friends and family. But is there any way to get your honey sesame matzo recipe before the book comes out? My bookstore is Bookshop Santa Cruz. Thanks
